    Despite their often witty quotes, and some acerbic writing, it is probably for the best that these bitchy queens of Hollywood are no longer with us. They did indeed have the power to ruin lives, often on a whim.

      Oh, it would be a nightmare! Mind you, I used to find Nicholas de Jongh unnecessarily bitchy when he was reviewing theatre in the Evening Standard.
