This shows how much attention I’ve been paying… I had never even heard of either Moonlight or La La Land before yesterday. I didn’t watch the Academy Awards, either, although this morning I heard there was some sort of mix up along the lines of “And the winner is… La La Land… oh, shit, sorry about that, we messed up, the winner is actually Moonlight… Oops!!!”

British writer Lance Parkin posted the following humorous-yet-all-too-accurate status on his Facebook page this morning: “The Oscars really were a liberal dream come true, after all: the manifestly wrong choice, a colourful but utterly vapid one, was declared the winner, but then someone strode onto the stage and announced it was all a mistake.” 🙂
