He played some great parts during his career. I never got to see the man behind the roles though. Sounds as if he was suitably ‘normal’.

Oh, I think so. I’d forgotten he had a small part in The Wooden Horse, which, funnily enough, was on BBC2 yesterday afternoon and which I watched for the umpteenth time.
I noticed it was on, but I have seen it so many times, I gave it a miss. x
It had been a long time since I’d seen it so it was worth reminding myself,
