    A loss to light entertainment, undoubtedly. At the risk of being accused of ‘Brucie blasphemy’, I never took to him at all. His catchphrases grated on me, I never found him funny, and thought his singing voice was average at best. I did my best to avoid watching anything he was in, and only ever did so to please others.
    That said, when I saw him interviewed as ‘himself’, I thought he was a warm and self-effacing man, who dealt with his years of stardom with great humility.
